Eve was born in Melbourne, Victoria. Educated at
Methodist Ladies College,
she holds a Degree in Social Sciences from the Professional Studies
Faculty
at Monash University with subjects including Management of
Organisational Behaviour
and Performance and Sociology. Her earlier studies at Monash on leaving
college as an honours student, focused on the humanities - English,
French
and German.
After commencing a career in the publishing industry
with Vogue Australia,
Eve held a number of high profile career roles in Melbourne and Sydney,
including National Publicity Manager for Community Aid Abroad and
Merchandising
Manager (Southern Hemisphere) for ACP Publishing.
Eve's career in recruitment commenced when she occupied
the Sydney position
of National Public Relations Manager for Centacom - a large personnel
organisation
whose branch offices grew to number forty five in Australia and the
United
Kingdom.
After relocating to Europe, Eve took up the position of
U.K. Account
Executive for Estee Lauder in charge of London's major department
stores
in the West End. She spent seven years on the Continent in London,
Brussels
and Paris before returning to Melbourne in the mid eighties.
Eve joined an IT organisation (CASAC Pty Ltd) as
Marketing and Development
Contracting Manager. This organisation was bought out by Paxus who
appointed
Eve to the National Marketing and Publicity Manager of the Contract
Consulting
Division with client and contracting activity centred mainly in
Melbourne
and Sydney. Since her departure from Paxus the company was taken over
by
US based Continuum and more recently CSC (Computer Sciences
Corporation).
Eve started her own organisation, Eve Howard &
Associates International
Recruitment, in late 1988 offering global recruitment services in
Executive
Search, Permanent Placement and Contracting, catering predominantly to
the Vendor community as well as select user sites.
An accomplished public speaker, Eve has participated as
a keynote speaker
and chairperson at overseas recruitment industry seminars, where she
has
presented papers on leadership and motivation relative to recruiting,
retaining
and reskilling information technology professionals. As a writer, Eve
has
also been a contributing editor to IT industry magazines on local
personnel
issues.
